Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 29, 2025

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Francesco Costantino ("we", "our" or "the Developer") handles user information when using the Emberkin Parent and Emberkin Kid mobile applications ("the Service").

Our philosophy is simple: Your data is yours. We designed Emberkin with a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) architecture to ensure that no monitoring data (videos, locations, images) is ever sent to our servers or stored by us.

Data Controller

Francesco Costantino

What Data We Collect (and What We DON'T)

A. Monitoring Data (Videos, Location, Screenshots)

WE DO NOT COLLECT OR STORE THIS DATA.

All sensitive information regarding monitored device activity (YouTube/TikTok history, GPS location, screen screenshots) is transmitted exclusively through a direct, encrypted (P2P) connection between the "Parent" device and the "Child" device.

This data is saved only locally on the Parent device's memory.

B. Technical Connection Data (Firebase)

To allow the two devices to find each other on the internet and establish the P2P connection, we use Google Firebase Realtime Database.

What transits: Technical connection parameters (SDP Offers, ICE Candidates).

Retention: This data is ephemeral. It is used exclusively to establish the call ("handshake") and is deleted from servers immediately after or cyclically through automatic cleanup processes.

Identification: We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication which assigns a random alphanumeric ID to the device. We do not link this ID to name, email, or phone number.

C. Advertising Data (AdMob)

The application is free and supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob.

AdMob and its partners may collect and process technical information such as: Device advertising identifiers (Advertising ID), IP address, ad performance data.

This data is processed according to Google's Privacy Policy and serves exclusively to deliver ads (including rewarded ads to obtain in-app credits).

We do not have access to user profiling data.

Device Permissions

The app may request the following permissions to function:

• Internet/Wi-Fi: To establish the P2P connection.

• Location (Guardian app only): To send coordinates to the parent.

• Accessibility/Usage Stats (Guardian app only): To detect video app opening (YouTube/TikTok) and enable monitoring.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: Historical data is saved in an encrypted database within your device.

Encryption in Transit: Communication between devices occurs via secure WebRTC protocol, further protected by proprietary AES-256-GCM encryption.

User Rights and Data Deletion

Since we don't have central servers with your personal data:

Deletion: You can delete all your data simply by uninstalling the app or using the "Delete Device" / "Unpair" function within the app itself. This will instantly delete the local database and saved images.

Access: Your data is already physically in your possession on your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We invite you to periodically consult this page on the website www.Emberkin.app.
