No. Emberkin works wherever you are. You can be at the office, away from home, or in another city: as long as both phones have an internet connection (Wi-Fi or 4G/5G). The app will automatically find a secure way to connect them, wherever they are.
Usually you just need to wait a few more seconds for the phones to find each other. Just verify two things: • That both phones are connected to the internet. • That the app on your child's phone hasn't been completely closed by battery saver (just open it once to reactivate it).
No, consumption is minimal. The app is smart: if you're at home it uses direct Wi-Fi (free), if you're away it uses internet but only transfers necessary data, saving your data plan.
It's very likely due to Battery Saver. Many phones, to extend battery life, "put to sleep" apps that work in the background. To fix this, you need to tell your child's phone to keep the Guardian app "awake": go to Settings and look for Battery or Auto-start, and make sure the app has permission to run "without restrictions".
Exclusively on your phone. We don't use "cloud" or online storage. Information travels like a private, encrypted message directly from your child's phone to yours. No one else can see it.
